In Rye, New York, Liz Williams collaborated with Northeast Architectural and interior designer Bets Miller of Finch & Co to bring a classic Tudor kitchen into the present — the modern-meets-Tudor contrast that gives the project its name. A massive ribbed walnut hood, almost sculptural, anchors the cooking wall over Pitt’s modular gas burners and a narrow marble counter. Miele wall ovens are camouflaged in matching metal-lacquer cabinetry, and a porcelain island conceals the family Dalmatian’s food and water bowls. An adjoining wet bar in dark wood and warm brass extends the entertaining space.
